I have been thinking about projects for the classes in the Fall all summer.  And I got the great idea of sewing with paper from Terry at Out of Hand.  Now Terry knows a lot more about sewing than I do so when she told me of projects her daughter brought home sewn out of brown paper from groceries bags, I knew it was something to look into.

While I will be asking for all of my groceries in paper for the next little while, I think that using brightly coloured vellum like the picture above with some grosgrain ribbon (with a little glue stick to keep it all together) would make for a great straight line sewing practice (and a lovely way to brighten up a room).

There is a really great tutorial on how to make these great fabric friendship bracelets.  I am going to give it a try later today so I’ll let you know how it goes.

PS – I totally think boys could rock these too …
